Raw Performance Imports (RPI) is an excellent RAWS compliance workshop and is one of the largest in Victoria, with a total of 30 vehicles on our schedule (and more being added very soon). We are able to comply most major imports from Japan and assist customers both big and small in compliance for a range of vehicles. IF YOU USE US TO FIND, BID ,IMPORT AND COMPLY YOUR DREAM CAR and if the vehicle arrives in Australia and it is significantly different from what is stated on the contract or has been damaged, RPI will accept full responsibility and either refund the deposit or repair the damage- NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

We are an Australian family owned and operated business servicing the niche market of imports from Japan for both cars and light trucks. RPI has been running since 1999 when imports were relatively new to the Australian market and not many dealers in Australia were specialising in these vehicles.

We have a dedicated Japanese mechanic. Tai ( tai@rawimports.com ) has been brought over from Japan to comply, maintain and service our cars. This allows us to achieve a higher standard of car selection, quality control, quick compliance turn a round and an intricate knowledge of the vehicles we comply, allowing us to keep costs down and customers extremely satisfied. We can also source and assist in spare parts directly from Japan ( parts@rawperformanceimports.com.au )
COMPLIANCE PROCESS
Compliance is the process every import vehicle must undergo to ensure it meets Australian Design Rules. It may only be performed by Registered Automotive Workshops.
Compliance begins right after purchase of the vehicle in Japan when the car is de-registered (in Japan) and the compliance workshop applies for an import approval from DOTARS (in Australia).
The import approval allows the car to be unloaded off the ship upon reaching Australia. Once the ship arrives in Australia, the car clears customs, is cleaned, and is transported to the compliance workshop.
The exact process of compliance varies depending on vehicle make and model, but usually entails writing a comprehensive report to the Department of Transport and regional services, installing child restraints, changing/adjusting headlights, changing wheels/tyres, and more.
